653 Chapter 3:Processes and procedures • Section 2: Verification (07/2026) this change in income is not more than a $50 change. The income of $975 per month will remain as the earned income for the SNAP financial summary because the new income does not have valid verification. Example 2: Jamal submits a renewal with income from his job at Tin Can Garage in the amount of $1000 per month and did not provide verification. The worker sees the income record in ONE is currently verified at $975 per month from a different employer (Quick Mart) and Jamal is no longer employed there. The worker will end the current income source record and add the new employment information on the Earned Income Source Screen. On the Earned Income Details and Verification screen the worker will enter the income record of $1000 per month, with Client statement as verification. The system will generate the RFI for this newly reported income source. Note: If the total reported countable income places the filing group over 130% of FPL and no verification is provided, an RFI will be generated even if the change is less than $50. Change in Medical Expenses ONE will ONLY generate an RFI for medical expenses which were previously unreported or when the total of allowable medical expenses has changed by more than $25. If the verification does not change the deduction amount an RFI will not be issued. Example 1: Ingrid currently does not have any medical expenses entered for SNAP in the ONE system. On her renewal, she reports a co-pay in the amount of $20 and did not provide verification. This reported amount is under $35, the system will not generate an RFI. Example 2: Ingrid currently has a verified medical expense in the ONE system in the amount of $50. When entered in the ONE system, this amount was between $35.01 - $205, the Standard Medical Deduction (SMD) of $170 was applied. On her renewal, she reports this medical expense has gone up to $90 and did not provide verification. The new reported amount is between $35.01 - $205, the system will not generate an RFI. She will continue to get the SMD of $170. Example 3: Ingrid currently has a verified medical expense in the ONE system in the amount of $210. Since this was higher than the SMD amount, $210 was given to her as a medical deduction in the system. On her renewal, she reports this medical expense has gone up to $250 and she did not provide verification. The system will generate an RFI as the amount of this change is more than $25. Report a Change (RAC): When verification is required One will generate an RFI on a case with reported changes in the following situations: Income is currently entered in ONE and is equal to or under 130% of FPL (Federal Poverty Level) and the new income reported places the case over 130% of FPL. Example 1: Chantel is on a SNAP case by herself and has earned income verified in the ONE system at $1000 per month from her employment at Toy Barn. She is reporting a change in income and now earns $1500 per month due to increased hours but did not provide verification. The prior income was not over 130% and this newly reported income places her case over 130% of FPL, the system will generate an RFI for income verification. Example 2: Juan has an approved SNAP case in the ONE system with his 3 children. He is currently working at B’s Lumber Yard and has verified earned income of $2750 per month in the ONE system. Juan reports he now receives
