621 Chapter 3:Processes and procedures • Section 1: Acting on reported changes (07/2026) 1st month = $100 2nd month = $75 3rd month = $50 For an individual to be eligible for EP the following must be true. • Have obtained unsubsidized paid employment and reported in a timely manner. • All other reported changes must be reported in a timely manner. • Meet TANF residency requirements • Remain at or below 350 percent Federal Poverty Limit, and • Be JOBS-eligible or volunteer and closed TANF due to one of the following:
Have become ineligible for the Pre-TANF, SFPSS or TANF programs due to income above the applicable countable income limit
Voluntarily closed TANF to avoid accruing time toward the TANF time limit, or
Voluntarily closed TANF to be eligible for TBA. The ONE system automatically determines EP eligibility whenever TANF is closing with earned income. Whenever new employment/income or change in current employment/income is reported, the family coach or eligibility worker must add an employment and income record into the ONE system. Reminder, updated employment/income could affect eligibility for other programs including, SNAP, JPI, and Medical programs. The following employment/income details are required for ONE to accurately determine eligibility. • Employment start date • How many hours the participant is scheduled to work per week • The participant’s hourly rate of pay • The date of the participant’s first paycheck • Actual/Anticipated income in initial month when pay is received • Actual/Anticipated hours to be worked in initial month when pay is received If the worker does not have answers to all mandatory questions, or the participant does not know, this will generate a missing information notice. The worker will be able to add specific details to the notices as needed. There are times when the household’s income may not put them over the TANF exit limit. If the family chooses to close TANF in order to save TANF months or receive TBA, the worker will need to withdraw their TANF in ONE, selecting the appropriate withdrawal reason. ONE will then determine EP eligibility. Ending EP EP will automatically end after the third month payment and whenever a change record is created for the following reasons (allowing for timely notice): • At any time during the three months the participant reports a job loss
