185 (07/2026) Chapter 2:Eligibility • Section 4: Household information ODHS|OHA must accept self-attestation of pregnancy unless ODHS|OHA has information that is not reasonably compatible with the individual’s statement, in which case we can require verification from a doctor’s office or clinic. See the website below for additional benefit information: https://public.health.oregon.gov/ HealthyPeopleFamilies/Women/Pregnancy/Pages/index.aspx HSD For HSD medical programs, a pregnant individual is an individual currently pregnant or within the postpartum period which begin the day after the pregnancy ends and extends to the end of the 12th calendar month following the month in which the pregnancy ends. Individuals who are eligible for and receiving Medicaid/ CHIP benefits at any time during their pregnancy, their eligibility is protected through the 12 months post-partum period. This means they remain eligible for their medical benefits regardless of most changes reported to their case and even if the case would otherwise close due to failure to respond to renewal or RFI. Note: This does not apply to individuals who are pregnant and receiving OHP Bridge-Basic Health Program (BHP)
Individuals who are eligible for CWM Plus Pregnant Parent or Other Caretaker Relative (EMPP) or CWM Plus Pregnant Woman (EMPR) are eligible for protected pregnancy benefits for 60 days following the month in which the pregnancy ends.
