126 (07/2026) Chapter 2:Eligibility • Section 1: Application others due to loss of housing or economic hardship; or staying in motels/hotels, cars, parks, public places, tents, trailers or other similar settings. • Families with foster children: The caretaker must indicate they need child care for a child receiving foster care to be eligible for priority processing; older children ages 12 through 17 may still be eligible by applying special needs age (SNA) coding. At intake, if a family does not have sufficient verification of income and/or current class schedule to approve their ERDC case, it is critical for ODHS|OHA to determine if the family qualifies for priority processing. If the family is eligible for priority processing, the case is opened based on the family’s best estimate of their ongoing income and/or current class schedule. A notice must be given to the family letting them know their ERDC case will close 45 days from their date of request (DOR). An interview is not required when priority processing has been determined by ONE. • The ERDC case will be opened with a 12-month certification. This is a requirement for ERDC. However, the family has 45 days from the DOR to submit their ongoing anticipated income or their ERDC case will close in two to three months (based on the DOR).
If the family does not submit their proof of income the case should be closed. No notice is required.
If the family does submit proof of income and/or current class schedule, the case should be adjusted based on the new verification, and timely notice should be sent if it will result in an increased copay amount.
