115 (07/2026) Chapter 2:Eligibility • Section 1: Application reporting requirements, and answer questions. The individual being interviewed and type of interview (such as face-to-face, phone or offsite) may vary depending on the program the applicant applied for. An interview must be conducted for some programs. SNAP Click here for Expedited service and priority processing. An adult filing group member, the head of household or the authorized representative of the filing group is interviewed once every 12 months. A face-to-face interview must be granted if requested by the applicant. For non-expedited service, an interview will occur as soon as possible and not later than 20 days after the filing date. An interview must be scheduled so the filing group has at least 10 days to provide any needed verification before the 30-day processing time frame. When an applicant misses the first scheduled interview appointment, ODHS|OHA must inform the applicant by issuing a notice of missed interview. An applicant who fails to attend a scheduled interview must contact ODHS|OHA no later than 30 days following the filing date to be eligible for benefits. If the application is entitled to expedited processing and the scheduled appointment is missed, ODHS is to process as soon as possible when the applicant makes contact to reschedule. In filing groups where all adults are either aged or have a disability with no earned income, an interview is only required at initial eligibility, and at reapplication when there is a break in benefits of 30 days or more. This is true even if there are minor children in the filing group. A face-to-face interview must be granted if requested by the applicant. TANF An eligibility interview is required at least every 12 months. ODHS may conduct a required eligibility interview by phone, a face-to face interview in office or an offsite location. A face-to face interview must be granted at the applicant’s request. Only one caretaker relative is required to attend the interview. Benefits are not delayed by requiring the second caretaker relative to attend. ERDC An interview is required when determining eligibility for ERDC. Phone interviews are preferred to accommodate the caretaker’s work or school schedule. A face-to-face interview must be offered if it can be arranged around the caretaker’s availability and the caretaker prefers a face-to-face interview. An ERDC interview is also required for TANF participants requesting Categorical ERDC. When an interview is not required An interview is not required when priority processing has been determined in ONE. When the ERDC waitlist is active, an interview is also not required if the caretaker’s request for benefits will be denied for not passing the waitlist income check or not meeting a waitlist exemption. A waitlist exemption screening must be completed by an eligibility worker to determine whether the applicant self- attests to having income below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FLP) for their ERDC EDG size and qualifies for a waitlist exemption.
