* The LITE Education – Details screen must be updated once school enrollment verification is received. Acceptable sources for verification include school records, such as progress or report cards, or a verbal statement from a school official, which must be documented in Case Notes. Authorize the case. **
Remove the 18 year old child when *** * they are no longer enrolled in school full-time or have completed their course of study.
Send advance notice of adverse action to remove the child in the month of their ** 19th birthday to be effective the following month.
***
* LITE eligibility batches automatically update the case when a child is turning a specific age.
For Example:
FITAP: Child is turning 18 years of age in the next month. On the 1st day of the month prior to the birthday month, the child who was receiving FITAP will be excluded if they are not a verified full-time student in a secondary school, and will stop receiving FITAP. If that child was the only eligible individual in the AU, the case will close.
FITAP: Child is turning 19 years of age in the next month. On the 1st day of the month prior to the birthday month, the child who was receiving FITAP will be excluded, and will stop receiving FITAP. If that child was the only eligible individual in the AU, the case will close.
Note: LITE currently sends advance notice of adverse action to be effective for the birthday month. This is a known defect that is scheduled for correction. The child must be excluded effective the month after their birth month.
Workers must use the LITE Override feature to allow eligibility and benefit issuance for the birth month when they are processing applications, redeterminations, and changes. **
