[System edits are in place to prevent dual participation by matching the Social Security Number (SSN), if available, of all household members to previously approved or denied Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) applicants. The system will also match SSNs with regular SNAP to prevent participant duplication.

Review the individual’s information on the system to determine if they are currently receiving regular SNAP benefits and if they were previously approved or denied DSNAP benefits.]

If hard copy applications are taken, they must be entered on the system daily to prevent dual participation. This includes approved and denied applications.

[If an applicant for DSNAP has an application pending for regular SNAP for the same month of the disaster issuance, they may choose to withdraw their SNAP application and apply for DSNAP.]
