A supervised set of activities directly linked to increasing the client’s employment opportunities, including, but not limited to: assignments, measurable steps for the client, resume reviews, interview practice, supported job research, or job searching skills. Supervision can occur remotely or in-person and must include meeting with the client one-on-one or in a group setting at least once a month to provide meaningful guidance, troubleshoot job search issues, and instruct clients to set measurable goals that lead to employment for the client. i. Note: Clients turning in job contacts to an EF PO worker without meaningful guidance and measurable goals tracked in case comments do not qualify as SJS. b. In-person SJS must be conducted at a State-approved location, which involves having access to computers, internet, or publicly available Wi-fi. EF POs must also provide necessary supportive payments and be able to track client participation in the SJS activity. Any supportive payments provided, SJS participation hours, and case management meetings must be documented in CBMS. c. Note: If a client is enrolled in SJS, case comments must demonstrate how the SJS activity is supervised. Work-based Learning Activities: Please note that when opening any work-based learning (WBL) activity on the Maintain Participant Activities screen in CBMS, there are certain fields under the Employment Detail section that become required. These required fields include: ● Employer Name ● Hourly Wage ● Monthly Wage ○ Use this formula to calculate a client’s estimated monthly wage: “Hourly Wage × Hours Worked Per Week × 52/12 = Monthly Wage” ■ ex: $18.00 × 32 × 52/12 = $2,496.00 Last updated: July 9, 2026
