7.08

Outreach To Migrant Population

POLICY:

The Local Agency will provide WIC Program benefits to eligible migrant farm workers.

PROCEDURE:

A. WIC Benefits for Migrant Farm workers

The Local Agency will provide WIC benefits to migrant farm workers (see Policy 2.05, Processing Standards for Applicants).

B. Provision of Program Information (see Policy 1.08, Civil Rights)

1. The Local Agency will provide bilingual staff or interpreters to aid in communication with the migrant farm worker applicants and participants.

2. The Local Agency will provide required all Program information to the migrant farm worker applicant and participant in the appropriate language orally and in writing.

 The Local Agency is responsible for the provision of written materials.

 The Local Agency will ensure that all rights and responsibilities listed on the Participant Agreement (WIC-05) are read to applicant in the appropriate language.

C. Outreach Network

Agencies which may serve migrant farm workers will be included in the community outreach network.
