Outreach To Homeless Populations

POLICY:

The Local Agency will work with agencies serving homeless populations to develop plans to make WIC benefits more accessible to these individuals (see Policy 2.18, Services to Persons Affiliated with Institutions & Homeless Facilities).

PROCEDURE:

A. Distribution of WIC Outreach Materials

The Local Agency Outreach Coordinator will make WIC outreach materials available to agencies which may serve homeless individuals, such as food pantries and kitchens, employment services, churches, YMCA and YWCA.

B. Outreach Network

Agencies which may serve homeless individuals will be included in the community outreach network.
