West Virginia WIC Policy & Procedure 7.03 Effective Date: 08/01/97 7.03 Building An Outreach Network POLICY: The Local Agency will organize an outreach network to inform health, education and social service programs in the community about the WIC Program. DEFINITIONS: Network: The coordination and integration of WIC services with other health, education and social service programs in the community which serve the same population to appropriately direct potentially eligible participant referrals to other programs. PROCEDURE: A. Distribution of Outreach Materials to Community Network Agencies The Local Agency Outreach Coordinator will ensure that approved and appropriate outreach materials are distributed to other health, education and social service programs in the Local Agency area. B. Community Network Agencies 1. The size of the community will determine the extent of the health, education and social service programs to be included in the network. 2. Local organizations which may be in the network are included in the Community Network Agencies list (see Attachment #1 7.03). ATTACHMENTS: 1. Community Network Agencies
