eWIC Benefits for the Breastfed Infant

POLICY:

eWIC Benefits must be generated in order for the fully breastfed infant to be counted as a WIC participant.

PROCEDURE:

A. Food package #3000 will be entered into the STORC Food Prescription Screen for infants who are fully breastfed.

B. “Breastfed is Bestfed” benefits will be generated by STORC for this infant. This benefit will not show on the Benefit Balance Receipt but will show on the FI history report.

C. The STORC system will automatically add cereal and infant foods(fruits, vegetables, and meats) at six months of age to the eWIC benefits. These benefits will show on the Benefit Balance Receipt when issued.
