(a)#
Except as provided in par. (b), in any action to recover from a person liable under this section, the statute of limitations may be pleaded in defense.
(b)#
If a person who is liable under this section is deceased, a claim may be filed against the decedent’s estate and the statute of limitations specified in s. 859.02 shall be exclusively applicable. This paragraph applies to liability incurred on or after July 20, 1985.
