fiscal year 2023 are provided solely for the office of the 1 superintendent of public instruction to provide grants to school 2 districts and educational service districts for science teacher 3 training in the next generation science standards including training 4 in the climate science standards. At a minimum, school districts 5 shall ensure that teachers in one grade level in each elementary, 6 middle, and high school participate in this science training. Of the 7 amount appropriated $1,000,000 is provided solely for community-based 8 nonprofits including tribal education organizations to partner with 9 public schools for next generation science standards. 10 (5) $250,000 of the general fund—state appropriation for fiscal 11 year 2022 and $250,000 of the general fund—state appropriation for 12 fiscal year 2023 are provided solely for the Kip Tokuda memorial 13 Washington civil liberties public education program. The 14 superintendent of public instruction shall award grants consistent 15 with RCW 28A.300.410. 16 (6) $5,895,000 of the general fund—state appropriation for fiscal 17 year 2022 and $5,895,000 of the general fund—state appropriation for 18 fiscal year 2023 are provided solely for a contract with a 19 nongovernmental entity or entities for demonstration sites to improve 20 the educational outcomes of students who are dependent pursuant to 21 chapter 13.34 RCW pursuant to chapter 71, Laws of 2016 (foster youth 22 edu. outcomes). The office may require the recipient of these funds 23 to report the impacts of the recipient's efforts in alignment with 24 the measures of the Washington school improvement framework. 25 (a) Of the amount provided in this subsection (6), $446,000 of 26 the general fund—state appropriation for fiscal year 2022 and 27 $446,000 of the general fund—state appropriation for fiscal year 2023 28 are provided solely for the demonstration site established pursuant 29 to the 2013-2015 omnibus appropriations act, section 202(10), chapter 30 4, Laws of 2013, 2nd sp. sess. 31 (b) Of the amount provided in this subsection (6), $1,015,000 of 32 the general fund—state appropriation for fiscal year 2022 and 33 $1,015,000 of the general fund—state appropriation for fiscal year 34 2023 are provided solely for the demonstration site established 35 pursuant to the 2015-2017 omnibus appropriations act, section 36 501(43)(b), chapter 4, Laws of 2015, 3rd sp. sess., as amended. 37 (c) Of the amounts provided in this subsection (6), $684,000 of 38 the general fund—state appropriation for fiscal year 2022 and 39 p. 1286 ESSB 5187.SL
