ICAN-RU referrals are communicated use referral forms or verbal referrals with the participant’s consent. How is information about the referral communicated within the State agency? ICAN referrals are communicated within the state agency through the state's eligibility system. All ICAN referrals are documented in the system's case notes. If an individual expresses interest in participating in ICAN following the referral, they will receive a letter with additional information about the program. A copy of this letter is saved in the participant’s file and can be accessed through the state’s notice system.
