2400.6.2.4 Actions Completed After the Certification Period Expires

Households that: applied before the end of their certification period, and completed the interview during the certification period or within 30 days after the end of the certification period, and Note : This may not apply to 3SquaresVT in a SNAP households. provides required verification within 10 days of the interview or within 30 days after the end of the certification period, whichever is later, must be reopened, if eligible. Provide a full month’s benefits.

Process applications for recertification received within 30 days of the end of the certification period like an initial application except : use verification at recertification requirements, and enter “R” as the FS Receipt Type, and follow 3SquaresVT in a SNAP interview requirements at recertification.

Screen for and provide expedited service , if eligible. Prorate benefits from the date of application.

Exception : Do not prorate benefits for Migrant Worker or Seasonal Farmworker households who complete the recertification process or apply for recertification within 30 days of the end of the certification period.

Note : If the household wants to complete the recertification more than 30 days after the end of the certification period, it must reapply. Process the application as an initial application, including screening for expedited service. See Application and Expedited Service .
