Child Care Subsidy Program (CCSP) Per-Child Copayment Amounts by Family Income (Updated income levels effective October 1, 2026)
Virginia’s copayment scale is based on a simple, per-child monthly fee for each child receiving assistance for up to three (3) children. The flat per-child monthly fee increases as family income increases. Families with no income are exempt from copayments. Families with income up to 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines are assigned a $5 copayment.
A family’s total monthly copayment reflects the total fees for each child participating in the CCSP up to three children. The monthly total is not to exceed 5% of family income.
Table 1 provides the current CCSP copayment scale for reference.
