Additional Considerations for Child Care
Complaints about health and safety issues in a child care setting must be reported to the Department of Health and Human Services, Child Care Licensing (CCL) program. For additional instructions and to file a complaint online refer the customer to dlbc.utah.gov/home/office-of-licensing/child-care/ . Customers may also call 801-273-2895 to file a complaint against a child care provider.
In addition to filing a complaint with CCL, abuse and neglect complaints must be referred to Child Protective Services, Child Abuse Hotline at 1-855-323-3237 and/or the local law enforcement agency.
Refer exempt providers who must be licensed according to state licensing laws to the Department of Health and Human Services, Child Care Licensing Unit ( dlbc.utah.gov/home/office-of-licensing/child-care/ ).
A list of substantiated licensed provider complaints is available through Care About Childcare by completing a provider search and selecting the provider’s Department of Health and Human Services Child Care Licensing Record.
