75 The Agency may verify factors other than identity, residency, and income provided that verification can be accomplished within expedited processing standards. The Agency should attempt to obtain as much additional verification as possible during the interview, but should not delay the certification of households entitled to expedited service for the full timeframes specified in Section 6.6 Processing Standards for Expedited Service when the Agency has determined it is unlikely that other verification can be obtained within these timeframes. Households entitled to expedited service will be asked to furnish a Social Security Number (SSN) for each person applying for SNAP benefits or apply for one for each person applying before the second full month of participation. Those household members who are unable to provide the required SSNs or who do not have one prior to the second full month of participation will be allowed to continue to participate only if they satisfy the good cause requirements with respect to SSNs specified in Section 7.2 Social Security Numbers (SSNs), (3) Determining good cause. EXCEPTION: Households with a newborn may have up to 6 months following the month the baby was born to supply an SSN or proof of an application for an SSN for the newborn. Once an acceptable collateral contact has been designated, the Agency will promptly contact the collateral contact, in accordance with Section 5.2 (2) Collateral contacts. Although the household has the primary responsibility for providing other types of verification, the Agency will assist the household in promptly obtaining the necessary verification.
