986 Chapter 7:Worker guides • Section 1: Multiple program worker guides (07/2026) Multiple program worker guides Introduction While the chapters within the Oregon Programs Eligibility Notebook are intended to cover all areas of eligibility, there may be miscellaneous pieces of information that do not fit into a single topic. The multiple program worker guides are available as a tool to accompany the rest of Oregon Administrative Rule and the Oregon Programs Eligibility Notebook for these areas. TA-DVS worker guides are not included here at this time. Select here for Temporary Assistance for Domestic Violence Survivors (TA-DVS) eligibility manual. Alternate formats, interpreters and translations Diversity, equity and inclusion statement: The Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) acknowledges our responsibility to serve all Oregonians by interrupting systemic inequities and upholding human rights. We strive for an environment where one’s race/ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, ability, veteran’s status and other identities do not predict life outcomes within our programs. With great humility, we accept responsibility for our mistakes and actively work to correct them. We will include the voices of communities we serve and work to integrate diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility into everything we do. This worker guide exists to provide additional policy and process guidance around alternate formats, interpreter services, and translation services. This includes documents in large print, Braille, audio tape, computer disk and oral presentation (phone or in person). The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is intended to protect persons with disabilities from discrimination in the services, programs or activities of all state and local governments. This includes accessing information about these services, programs or activities. ODHS must ensure that communications with applicants, participants and members of the public with disabilities are as effective as communications with others. ODHS|OHA policy states: The intent of providing alternate formats is to ensure that ODHS|OHA communication with individuals with disabilities is as effective as that provided to individuals without disabilities. ODHS|OHA will use an individualized approach to respond to requests for alternate formats which may include the need for additional information or clarification. Agents of ODHS|OHA, in cooperation with individuals requiring alternate formats, will identify the most appropriate format. Primary consideration will be given to the individual’s preferred format. This document consolidates and revises previous instructions from Central Office regarding the availability, assessment and processing of alternate format requests. If you have any questions concerning these matters, contact your branch ADA coordinator or operations manager. Availability of alternate formats (AF)
