913 Chapter 5:Temporary Assistance for Domestic Violence Survivors (TA-DVS) Program • Section 8: Payments (07/2026) issued by mail whenever possible. If there is an emergency, a check may issued out of office. Benefits issued are intended to support the survivor and their situation. Once benefits are issued, they are unrestricted and do not require accountability for individual expenditure. This means that the money is intended to support the survivor and the intended use. Survivors may use the funds how needed to support family safety. This also means that once ODHS issues a check, there is no longer a commitment by ODHS for further payment, and the payment is now considered the survivor’s money. For all TA-DVS payments, use the corresponding payment type , unless payments are for individuals with citizenship waiver: • For payments where citizenship is waived, always use payment type of TA-DVS Citizenship Waived.
