829 Chapter 4:Working with families • Section 10: Support service payments (07/2026) Verification of need for support service payments Payments made to the participant – The exact amount of support services made payable to the participant does not need to be verified by the participant, but family coaches should do their due diligence to verify whenever possible. Family coaches need to have a conversation with the participant as to what is reasonable to meet the need and can make a determination, rounding up to the nearest dollar amount. This determination will need to be documented in case notes and or TRACS narratives. Some payments will necessitate detailed calculations, such as gas payments to support engagement in the PDP. Payments made to a vendor – All payments made directly to vendors require verification of the exact amount as the vendor must have the exact payment amount. Verification can include but is not limited to the following: • Bill or shut off notice from public utility; • Rental agreement; • Phone call with vendor; • Bill from vendor; • Quote from vendor; • Other written or verbal communication outlining the cost of the item. Housing and Utility cost verification – Family coaches must verify that the requested need for rent or utility support matches the ONE system for these expenses. If there is a discrepancy between what is being reported and the support service request, family coaches should have a conversation with the participant, case note the conversation and reason for discrepancy, and create a task for eligibility workers if necessary. Oregon Administrative Rule(s) 461-190-0211 — Case Plan Activities and Standards for Support Service Payments; JOBS, Pre-TANF, SFPSS, TANF Child care support service payments Child care is no longer offered as a support service payment.
