The first direct deposit benefit cannot happen for 3 days after this occurs. • When the individual’s first direct deposit is successfully completed, a remittance advice is sent to inform the individual. Note: Until this process has been completed, a paper check will be mailed if Direct Deposit payment method is chosen in ONE. Direct deposit rejected If a direct deposit fails, the system receives the information from KeyBank. The system will issue a replacement check to the address on file. The system will close the Direct Deposit enrollment. CMU should work with the eligibility worker to update the preferred payment method in the ONE system. If Direct Deposit is the payment method chosen in ONE, the individual will continue to receive their payments via a check. The eligibility worker can contact the individual to get new Direct Deposit forms if they wish to continue with Direct Deposit. At times the banks send back updated banking information. The system will handle updating the enrollment information accordingly. If a Pre-note fails, the direct deposit enrollment will be terminated, and CMU will follow up. This could be caused by a data entry error or getting invalid banking information from the customer. Eligibility staff can see the replacements in the JRPL screen on the mainframe (DHR) or in the ONE benefits management under Benefit Inquiry in Actual Benefit Details.
