608 Chapter 3:Processes and procedures • Section 1: Acting on reported changes (07/2026) work date: Enter shortest timeframe in ONE. For example, if three to four months are expected, enter a return-to-work date of the third month. If the caretaker reports they are not back to work by the third month, the worker may extend the date to the fourth month or adjust it based on updated information the caretaker receives from their employer. When caring for someone outside the ERDC EDG: • The care can be for an adult or child outside the EDG. For example, caring for someone outside the household that is recovering from a medical procedure. • The Good Cause reason selected must be one of the following: 1. FMLA/OFLA 2. Health Reasons 3. Household Emergency or 4. Other good cause If the good cause reason verification is marked anything except “Needs Verification,” the ONE system will authorize AWS with no RFI. AML will not be authorized in these cases. When adding AWS, ONE will: • Not adjust the end certification date • Not adjust the child care hours • Not adjust the income • Address the child care deduction for SNAP, if applicable. AWS will waive the copay until: • The case closes based on the AWS end date, or • AWS ends because of new employment, or the caretaker returns to work. When a caretaker reports new employment or they have returned to work, the worker should enter that information in ONE which causes AWS to end with timely notice. Once AWS ends, the copay will no longer be waived. The copay amount will be based on the income prior to the job loss or break in work, or based on the new income if lower. (Timely notice is required to decrease benefits.) When employment is reported in months 1-10 of the certification period, before the AWS coding closes the case: • New or return to work employment does not need to be verified when the AWS coding is on the case, unless the caretaker requests a change because:
They are earning less; ODHS|OHA will verify new income only (the child care hours remain the same).
They are working more hours; ODHS|OHA will verify hours only (increase the child care hours
