599 Chapter 3:Processes and procedures • Section 1: Acting on reported changes (07/2026) HSD Adding a household member The effective date for adding a new person to the household group is the earlier of the following: • The earliest date of eligibility within the month in which the date of request is established, • If ineligible within the month in which the DOR was established, the first day within the following month in which the individual is determined to be eligible, • If requesting retroactive medical benefits, the first day of the earliest date of eligibility within the three months preceding the month in which the DOR was established, • If the addition of a household member results in a reduction or loss of eligibility for EDG members, the effective date for the change is:
If the determination is made on or before the 15th of the month, the first of next month,
If the determination is made on or after the 16th of the month, the first of the month following the next month. Removing a household member When an individual is permanently removed from the household group, ONE will end benefits and send timely notice. The effective date the benefits will be ended is as follows:
If the determination is made on or before the 15th of the month, the first of next month, or
If the determination is made on or after the 16th of the month, the first of the month following the next month. • When a deceased individual is removed from the household, the effective date is the individual’s date of death. • When an individual is removed from the household due to incarceration, the effective date of benefit suspension is the day following the date of incarceration.
