Interviews An interview must be completed at initial application for everyone applying for services, including assumed eligible and MAGI individuals. An interview must be completed at renewal for everyone receiving services, except assumed eligible and MAGI individuals. The same individuals who can complete the application process can also complete the interview. Note: If the initial application was completed by someone acting responsibly on an incapacitated individual’s behalf and that person is not the authorized representative, then they are not authorized to complete the interview at renewal. If it’s clear that the individual cannot complete the interview process, the interview requirement can be waived. This means that the interview must be marked as completed with a case note explaining the waiver. Other resources Interview Guide for Non-MAGI and LT Services: *includes screenshots: Describes key data and processes involved in conducting an APD interview, including income, expenses, and non-financial information. Eligibility groups Individuals applying for LTC services will always be the only one in the household, filing, financial, need, and benefit groups. However, the adult’s spouse or child’s parent, if any, will have their resources considered during the resource assessment/evaluation portion of the financial eligibility determination. Note: For children, this means only their income is counted. However, parental income is required to evaluate HSD medical program eligibility due to the hierarchy of medical programs within ONE. If determined ineligible for HSD medical programs, only the child’s income will be counted for evaluation of APD medical programs. Although, the parent’s resources are deemed to the child. ONE will determine the EDG through the rules engine using the answers to questions within the system. When
