Her husband, William, works 24 hours per week. She provided verification of her current class schedule and her husband’s employment. We verified 12 weekly overlapping work and student hours between Svetlana and William. Total hours are: 12 overlapping work/student hours + 10 study hours = 22 weekly hours. This family is eligible for the full-time (40 hours per week, plus travel time) authorization of hours because their weekly overlapping work & student hours fall between 21-40 hours per week. Example 5: Two-caretakers, both non-working students Sam and Jonathan are both full-time students, taking 12 credit hours each. They provided verification of 6 overlapping class hours per week. Total hours are: 6 overlapping weekly class hours + 10 study hours = 16 weekly student hours. This family is eligible for the part-time (20 hours per week, plus travel time) authorization of hours because their weekly overlapping student hours fall between 1-20 hours per week. Example 6: Student hour verification not received Marie is applying for ERDC while she is working and attending school. She has supplied all the required verification except for a copy of her current class schedule. Marie states that she will have her class schedule within the next week. The case is pended for the verification and the worker explains that we cannot open the child care case until we have proof of Marie’s class schedule. The worker should explain that Marie should contact the office as soon as possible if she decides not to pursue student hours. If Marie does not return the pended item, the case will be denied.
