Meet priority processing requirements of being homeless or applying for child care for a child receiving foster care,

The worker is unable to obtain this verification by calling the employer. Eligibility determination groups An eligibility determination group (EDG) for ERDC consists of all filing group members, included adults (parents, caretakers and their spouse), eligible children, non-citizens (children or adults), and older children not receiving child care. EDG members can be viewed on the EDG summary screen. Unmarried children in the care and custody of the caretaker, who are under age 18 or 18 and attending secondary school (e.g., high school or equivalent program such as GED) or vocational training at least half time, are included in the benefit group. Income calculation • If representative of future income, use a month’s worth of recent income verification (if you do not use the most recent income, be sure to make a case note indicating why) to project future income. • If not representative, estimate future income based on best information available to the caretaker, this could be a call to the employer or a written employer statement. • Remember to include all earned income (e.g., bonuses, tips, commissions, and any unearned income) in calculation. • See special rules on treatment of self-employment income. • Compare countable income to income charts: 200% FPL at initial certification and the ongoing and recertification income limit during the certification and at recertification. If over, customer ineligible. Listing • Provide the caretaker with a copy of the Child Care Provider Guide (7492) to give to their provider; • If the caretaker’s provider is not listed, give the Child Care Provider Listing form (7494) if approved for ERDC or the 7494D if eligibility for ERDC is pending. The listing process includes a background check that is necessary for child safety. It is important to explain this to the caretaker and inform them to give the listing form to the provider immediately. The provider is required to complete and return the listing form within 30 calendar days from the date the listing form is issued. The worker will record the date given on the listing form. The provider must be listed and approved before billing forms can be sent. • If already listed, give the Child Care Provider Letter (7494E) to the caretaker to give to their provider after ERDC is approved. The 7494E serves as a notice that the ERDC benefits have been approved. Send an electronic provider connection request to DPU to connect already listed provider to case; • Explain that services offered by CCR&R are to help providers with the listing process and with DELC training requirements; • If a caretaker needs help locating a provider, they may contact 211Info by dialing 211, text the keyword “children” to 898211, email children@211.org, or visit 211Info.org.
