(Note: If yes, Lead Agencies must provide a minimum of three months of job search) No. Yes. If yes, describe the policy or procedure. (including any differences in eligibility at initial eligibility determination vs. redetermination of eligibility): Effective 09/30/19, an individual is only eligible for job search after losing employment or their educational program ends. 3.1.2 Eligibility criteria based on reason for care d) Does the Lead Agency provide child care to children in protective services? No. Yes. If yes: i. Please provide the Lead Agency's definition of "protective services": Protective services is a government agency charged with the supervision and protection of children at risk from abuse and neglect, and children who have been made state wards which includes out-of-home placement. Parents/foster parents of children involved in protective services must meet a need for service in order to receive Child Care Subsidy. For the purposes of eligibility, the Lead Agency defines protective services as children who are state wards residing in an out-of-home placement and/or children who are state wards residing in their own home who would not be eligible for Subsidy due to income, but have a case plan showing family preservation.
Note: Federal requirements allow other vulnerable children identified by the Lead Agency not formally in child protection to be included in the Lead Agency's definition of protective services for CCDF purposes. A Lead Agency may elect to provide CCDF-funded child care Nebraska Page 73 of 314
