School-Age Children - In the Market Rate Survey, “school-age children” are children five through twelve years old, excluding five-year-olds who have not yet begun kindergarten. School-age child care is typically offered before and after school hours, and during school breaks (including summer breaks), during track-out periods for year-round schools, or for teacher workdays and holidays.
