Chapter or Appendix Page Change the denial letter based on the household situation. • If Commerce determines there is suspected fraud, Commerce may deny the application in eHEAT as “Denied Suspected Fraud.” This will not generate an automatic letter, so the Service Provider must use the Suspected Fraud Denial Letter Template (Appendix 10D) and customize the denial letter based on the household situation.

7 Additions to the Overpayments Resulting from Suspected Fraud section include: • Funds repayment does not include the hardship reason. • Commerce may grant an exception to mandated reporting to local authorities if the household proactively identifies the fraud, provides accurate information for application corrections, and repays all overpayments.
