1 of 4 I. STATEMENT OF POLICY

LITE authorizes benefits on a monthly basis to ongoing cases during the first 23 calendar days of each month as follows:

Last Digit of Social Security Number (SSN) (unless the head of the household is Elderly or any member of the household is Disabled): SNAP benefits are available after 5 a.m. on the: The head of the household is Elderly or any member is Disabled

(1st-4th of every month) 0 5th of every month 1 7th of every month 2 9th of every month 3 11th of every month 4 13th of every month 5 15th of every month 6 17th of every month 7 19th of every month 8 21st of every month 9 23rd of every month

Benefits may also be authorized automatically by LITE when:

• certifying a case,

• recertifying a timely reapplication after cutoff,

• authorizing the second month’s benefits on an expedited case with postponed verification that is provided after cutoff, or

• a Manual Issuance request is entered in LITE by the local office or by State Office.

LITE benefit issuance is batch oriented and benefits are authorized the same day for all actions.

Benefits issued through a Manual Issuance are available either the same day or the following day after the issuance request is entered in LITE. Examples of Manual Issuance reasons include:

• authorizing the first month’s benefits for a new certification period when a redetermination is completed after the end of the redetermination month.
