C-921-FITAP - PR COMPUTING THE PRORATED BUDGETARY DEFICIT
If the budgetary deficit is not a whole dollar amount, LITE will use the following formula to compute the prorated budgetary deficit:
(Prior to rounding down)
Amount of budgetary deficit X (31 - Date of Application)
30
Example: On October 8th, Mrs. Jones applies for FITAP for herself and her three minor children. She has countable unearned income of $174.35.
Mrs. Jones meets the eligibility test. Her October benefit amount is computed as follows:
Flat Grant (4)
$568.00 Less Countable Income - 174.35 Budgetary Deficit = $393.65
