Division/Section Family Support Chapter No./Name Economic Stability (ES) Part No./Name B-Eligibility Factors (FITAP) Section No./Name B-1800 Drug Testing (FITAP) Document No./Name B-1850-FITAP Coordination with OBH Effective Date February 1, 2013
1 of 1 I. STATEMENT OF POLICY
OBH will advise the worker of the results of their assessment.
OBH will determine whether the recipient’s participation in the recommended treatment program is satisfactory and will notify the worker if it is determined to be unsatisfactory.
Prior to a determination that the recipient has failed to participate, OBH and ES will work together to encourage the recipient to satisfactorily participate through a collaborative intervention.
II. PROCEDURES
If OBH determines that the recipient is not using or dependent on illegal drugs, no further action is necessary unless subsequent screening or other reasonable cause indicates use of or dependence on illegal drugs. If OBH determines a substance abuse problem other than illegal drugs, encourage the client to take advantage of OBH’s proposal treatment plan; however, a penalty for failure to participate is not applicable.
If OBH determines that the recipient is using or is dependent on illegal drugs, an education, treatment and rehabilitation plan will be established by OBH staff.
If OBH recommends residential treatment and the recipient is unable to arrange for the temporary care of dependent children, Economic Stability Section and/or OBH will coordinate with the Child Welfare Section to arrange for the care of such children.
OBH will determine whether the recipient is able to participate in work activities while under treatment and rehabilitation and will advise the worker of the decision. If OBH determines that the individual is unable to participate while involved in treatment, a good cause determination is appropriate.
