1 of 1 I. STATEMENT OF POLICY

All SNAP applicants/recipients who are not exempt from work registration requirements are considered Mandatory Work Registrants (MWRs) and are required to:

● Register for work with the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) by having an active Helping Individuals Reach Employment (HiRE) account before the SNAP case is certified at application and registration must be verified at redetermination. Refer to B-1430-SNAP.

● Comply with all other work registration requirements, which includes:

o Accepting an Offer of Employment,

o Providing Sufficient Information to Determine Employment Status or Job Availability,

o Not Voluntarily Quitting a Job, and

o Not Voluntarily Reducing Work Effort.

MWRs are ineligible if they fail or refuse to comply with the work registration requirements identified above.
