2 of 2 OBTAIN A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER (SSN) OR ACCEPTABLE PROOF THAT THE CLIENT HAS APPLIED FOR AN SSN.

IF THE MEMBER DOES NOT PROVIDE THE SSN OR ACCEPTABLE PROOF OF APPLICATION FOR AN SSN, AND GOOD CAUSE FOR FAILURE TO TIMELY APPLY FOR AN SSN IS NOT ESTABLISHED, DISQUALIFY THE MEMBER BY ENTERING THE APPROPRIATE INCLUSION/EXCLUSION CODE AND INCLUSION/EXCLUSION REASON CODE ON THE REGISTER MAINTAIN MEMBER BY CASE SCREEN ON LAMI.

If good cause is not established for a person required to be in the assistance unit, exclude the person and budget income without allocation for needs. If the unenumerated person is the only child in the assistance unit, close or reject the case as there is no eligible child in the home. If an SSN is not provided for a person not required to be in the assistance unit, do not include that person.

Do not deny or delay benefits pending issuance of an SSN after receipt of completed Form 1ER from the Social Security Administration indicating the enumeration activity is completed.

Allow thirty days from the first day of the first full month of benefits for all members except newborns to report the SSN to the agency. Staff should set a task in CAFÉ to ensure the SSN is provided timely.

IF GOOD CAUSE IS ESTABLISHED AT APPLICATION AND THE MEMBER IS INCLUDED, ESTABLISH GOOD CAUSE EVERY 30 DAYS THEREAFTER.

INFOPAC REPORT LAMR55P - PSEUDO SSN MUST BE CHECKED AND ACTION TAKEN FOR ALL ACTIVE CASES APPEARING ON THE LISTING. HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS ON THIS LIST HAVE HAD PSUEDO SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS ON LAMI FOR MORE THAN 6 MONTHS.
