Volume 2 - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) MS 2920 – R. 6/30/26 – OMTL – 684 Ineligible Alien/Member Resources and Income
A. [All resources of an ineligible alien household member are counted as available to the remaining household members.
B. A pro rata share of the income of the ineligible alien member is counted as income to the remaining members. When manually calculating the pro rata share to ensure the benefit amount is correct, do the following:
1. Subtract allowable exclusions from the ineligible alien's income;
2. Divide the countable income evenly among the household members, including the ineligible alien and any other excluded members; and
3. Count all but the excluded member's share as income to the remaining household members.
C. When considering the income and resources of the ineligible alien, the “ineligible alien” status takes precedence over all other excluded member statuses. For example, an individual who is ineligible due to immigration status and student status is an ineligible alien first, and an ineligible student second.]
