MS 6780 [1] Volume 2 - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) MS 6780 – R. 5/1/26 – OMTL – 694 Overview of Public Assistance Changes Affecting SNAP Cases Public Assistance (PA) SNAP households have the same reporting requirements as any other SNAP household. PA households that report a change in circumstances in their PA case are considered to have reported the change for SNAP purposes. The household is not required to submit separate sets of verification for each case. [Notify SNAP households whenever their benefits are adjusted as a result of a change in PA benefits. Reduce or remove the PA grant(s) from the SNAP case, effective with the next appropriate issuance. Note: When an individual is required to report hours monthly for a work participation requirement in another program, and monthly income is included with verification, it is not appropriate to update the individual’s income monthly unless there is a substantial change. See MS 6705 for details regarding simplified reporting households. Example: A self-employed individual is required to provide hours worked monthly for Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (KTAP) participation and includes his monthly income on the statement. Self-employment income is calculated by averaging the prior 12 months or averaged from the date the individual began working, if less than 12 months. Updating the income monthly is not an accurate representation of the individual’s average monthly income.]
