Volume 2 - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) MS 3260 – R. 6/30/26 – OMTL – 680 Change Report Requirements for Simplified Assistance for the Elderly (SAFE)

[A SAFE household is not required to report changes as the State Data Exchange (SDX) update process meets reporting requirements. However, individuals may voluntarily report changes by calling toll-free 1-866-256-3823. The following changes, if voluntarily reported, are acted on by staff in the Division of Family Support, Nutrition Assistance Branch (NAB):

A. Date of birth; B. Name; C. Address; and D. Shelter expenses.

All other changes, such as marital status and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) eligibility, must first be reported to the Social Security Administration (SSA). Once SSA makes the change to SDX, the system takes appropriate action during the monthly match with SDX.
