Volume 2 - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) MS 3175 – R. 6/30/26 – OMTL – 671 Verification at Application
A. [Categorically eligible (CE) households have certain eligibility factors that are considered met for SNAP.
These eligibility factors are:
1. Resources, except for some lottery or gambling winnings. See MS 5000 for more details;
2. Social Security Number (SSN) information;
3. Residency; and
4. Sponsored alien information.
The gross and net income limits do not apply to CE households, but income must be verified. All other eligibility factors apply.
B. Expanded categorically eligible (ECE) households meet all eligibility factors listed above except for SSN information. ECE households may not have income in excess of the 200 percent Federal Poverty Level (FPL) income limit and must be under the net income eligibility standard for their household size. All other eligibility factors must be met.
C. During an interview, if an individual states they have resources, the worker must enter the amounts on the system as reported by the individual. Reported resources must be entered into the system as they could become countable resources in the event the member loses their categorical eligibility. Client statement is accepted as verification of resources.]
