2911.4 Buy-In Terminations
Buy-in coverage ends when one of the following occur:
Death - coverage ends on the last day of the month in which the individual died.
Loss of Entitlement to Medicare Coverage - If an individual is under age 65 and loses entitlement, buy-in coverage ends on the last day of the last month for which the individual is entitled to Medicare.
Loss of Medical Assistance Eligibility - If an individual loses medical assistance eligibility, buy-in coverage ends on the last day of the last month for which the individual is eligible for medical assistance, except when an individual goes into spenddown status. In this case, buy-in coverage continues. Persons who remain covered only under ADAP (see 2694 ) after regular medical coverage terminates are also terminated from buy-in.
