PROVIDER DETERMINATIONS In accordance with 7 CFR 273.7(c)(18) a State agency must ensure that E&T providers are informed of their authority and responsibility to determine if an individual is ill-suited for a particular E&T component. Describe the process used by E&T providers to communicate provider determinations to the State agency. Providers can reject a referral if a customer is not a good fit or does not qualify for their program. They can also notify their Provider Manager in writing to request the removal of a customer. The request must state why the request is being made. The request must be made within 10 days of the date the determination is made. Individuals rejected from one program may be referred to another provider if multiple providers are available within their geographic area. Describe how the State agency notifies clients of a provider determination. WFD staff will inform the individual of the provider determination and can offer another referral to a different provider if an appropriate one is available and the reason for program rejection was not a universal obstacle to participation. The notification must be made within 10 days of the determination. The participant will be informed of the determination, what steps will be taken and if and how it will affect their case.
