ESA SNAP Policy Manual 173 Example 2 Mr. McKinnon receives TSNAP benefits of $300 monthly. His five-month TSNAP period ends on March 31. On February 1, Mr. McKinnon applies for recertification of his SNAP benefits. During the interview, ESA determines that Mr. McKinnon’s SNAP benefits would increase by $55 monthly based on his current income and expenses. ESA will process the recertification effective February 1 and issue a supplement of $55 for the February benefits.
13.7.7 Termination of TSNAP If a household receives TSNAP and then starts to receive TANF or POWER again, ESA will terminate TSNAP and determine eligibility for SNAP benefits using recertification rules. If that household is later terminated from TANF or POWER due to an increase in income, the household can receive TSNAP for another five-month period as long as it meets all TSNAP eligibility criteria.
