i. Provide notice of opportunity to register to vote, and voter registration documentation, in accordance with this Policy and DES 1-01-24, Voter Registration: A) Applicants will be provided a notice of the opportunity to register to vote, as part of their LIHEAP application or recertification, so that they may indicate whether they wish to register to vote. 1) Applicants who apply online will be provided a digital equivalent to the DES-1231A, National Voter Registration Act Voter Preference Question, automatically as part of their online application. 2) Applicants who apply in-person with a Community Navigator, or by mail or fax, will be provided a DES-1231A. 3) Applicants who receive assistance by phone will be informed of the opportunity to register to vote, and asked if they would like DES to send a voter registration application form. B) Applicants who indicate that they wish to register to vote, or who do not provide a response will: 1) For Applicants who apply online, be automatically referred to the Arizona Department of Transportation online voter registration portal. 2) For Applicants who apply in-person with a Community Navigator, or by mail or fax, be sent a LIHEAP Voter Registration Notice (including attached DES-1232A, Arizona Voter Registration Form). 3) For Applicants who are receiving assistance with an application by phone, be sent a LIHEAP Voter Registration Notice (including attached DES-1232A). ii.
