Manufacturer and Store Promotions WIC customers must be allowed to participate in manufacturer and store promotions offered to all other customers. This includes sales, coupons, loyalty, or participant reward cards. Vendors are not allowed to offer incentives, promotional items, or services specifically for WIC customers or to encourage WIC participants to shop in a particular store.

Grocery delivery and customer transportation are not allowed. The following are examples of promotions and specials that WIC customers are allowed to participate in:

Buy One Get One Free Promotions If an item is buy one get one free, one item must qualify for WIC, but the free item does not have to be a WIC approved item. In addition, the free product does not impact their WIC benefit balance.

If a food item is advertised as “buy one get one free” with the disclosure that each item is sold for half the advertised price, both food items will impact their WIC benefit balance.
