In addition, the system allows for the management and tracking of authorized WIC vendors, WIC benefit redemption, and reporting of WIC data.

The Crossroads application was originally written as an XBAP browser application that ran using Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) only. When support for Microsoft IE was discontinued, the Crossroads application was converted to a click-once desktop application that continues to utilize the XBAP technology. To support the click-once desktop application, the Crossroads Launcher was developed, and it is currently installed on all Crossroads user machines. A shortcut to the launcher is saved to each Crossroads user’s desktop and each user accesses the Crossroads system by double clicking this launcher shortcut on the desktop.
The Crossroads click-once application can also be launched using the Microsoft Edge browser, but this is not the recommended method for accessing the system. Currently, no other browsers support the application without the installation of unapproved browser extensions.
