An AI benefits assistant that calculates with the Axiom rules engine.
Ask about a benefit or a tax. The assistant is instructed to take every dollar amount and eligibility result from the Axiom rules engine, which runs rules Axiom encoded from statutes, regulations, and agency guidance, rather than from the model’s memory. Expand the tool calls under an answer to see the calculation.
Replies come from an AI (OpenAI’s GPT-6 Luna), not a person or a government agency. Answers are estimates from encoded rules that may be incomplete. Don’t include names, Social Security numbers, or case or account numbers.

The AI and encoded rules can make mistakes. Answers are estimates, not agency decisions or tax or legal advice. For an official determination, contact your SNAP office (opens in a new tab), benefits agency (opens in a new tab) or tax agency (opens in a new tab).
34 encoded programs: SNAP in 11 states, cash assistance (TANF) in 17 states, federal income tax, 2 state income taxes, and 3 other programs. 21 of them have results flagged as not fully encoded yet, including the main result for 18. See coverage by state and program.
Messages go to OpenAI, which may keep them for a time; calculation inputs go to Axiom’s engine on Modal and may appear in server error logs. Google Analytics measures page views, scrolling, time on the page and outbound links. PostHog measures page use and records sessions, with the conversation, draft messages and chat errors masked; console recording is disabled. Prefilled question text is removed from the page URL before analytics starts. Initial link URLs can appear in hosting logs.
