2. Specific times for elections

There are specific periods referred to as “election periods” during which a beneficiary can elect an MA plan. There are five types of election periods during which individuals may make elections. They are:

• The Initial Coverage Election Period (ICEP);

• The Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (MA OEP);

• The Annual Election Period (AEP);

• All Special Election Periods (SEP); and

• Open Enrollment Period for Institutionalized Individuals (OEPI).
