HI 00208.015 Role of the Social Security Administration (SSA)

SSA has responsibility for general management and operational aspects of the Medicare program. This includes:

A. Determinations of an individual's entitlement to benefits; hearings and appeals resulting from these determinations, and the maintenance of eligibility and utilization records;

B. Through the network of district, branch and teleservice centers, providing the locations where the public can readily acquire program information.
