West Virginia Income Maintenance Manual Page 70 Chapter 5 Assets
Effective June 14, 2019, an AG who receives an amount greater than or equal to the SNAP asset limit for AGs containing an elderly or disabled member from any single hand, bet or ticket won from any lottery or gaming establishment is ineligible for SNAP. A SNAP recipient is required to report this information within 10 days of the end of the month in which the assistance group received the winnings. All unearned income should count toward the AGs eligibility before taxes and withholdings are taken out. The AG remains ineligible until it meets both the allowable income and asset limits.
NOTE: If multiple individuals shared in the purchase of a ticket, hand or bet, only the portion of the winnings are allocated to the member of the SNAP AG in determining eligibility.
